Vinyl 

The vinyl everyone is familiar with is the sheet good product -- linoleum. This product was invented in 1845 and remained popular throughout WWII.

The sheet good vinyl still exists, but it has come a long way since its humble beginnings. With new technology making it sturdier, and resistant against curling, linoleum is no longer the flooring it used to be.
